Who I Am
My name is Molly Acton, and I'm currently in college trying to figure out what comes next. I don't have a corner office or a decade of experience. I don't have all the answers. What I do have is curiosity—and a microphone.
I'm studying, I'm exploring, and I'm paying attention. And I figured the best way to learn about building a life was to ask people who've already done it.
Why I Started The Long Game
When I look around at my peers, I see a lot of anxiety. About choosing the right major, the right internship, the right first job. We're told to have a five-year plan before we've even started.
But when I talk to people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, I hear a completely different story. Almost none of them ended up where they expected. The best things in their careers happened by accident, through relationships, through pivots, through patience.
I started The Long Game because I wanted to capture those stories—and share them with anyone else who's feeling the pressure to have it all figured out right now.
What I'm Trying to Learn
Every conversation I have teaches me something new. I'm learning that success is rarely linear. That the things that seem urgent at 20 often don't matter at 40. That the people who build meaningful careers do so by playing the long game—by being patient, staying curious, and being willing to change course.
I'm not here to give advice. I'm here to listen, to learn, and to share what I find with you.
The Question I Ask Every Guest
"If you were sitting across from your younger self, what would you tell them to stop worrying about—and what should they take more seriously?"
